Frequently Asked Questions
BIOT uses WebExs for our web-based symposia. We hope that the below information will be helpful to you as we seek to provide you with the "Best of BIOT."
Will there be a recording or print-out of slides available?
Currently, we are unable to offer notes, slide print-outs, recordings or any other form of "take home" media.
Do I need to download a program to view the webinar?
No, there is no need to downstall any program prior to joining a webinar.
Is there any way I can watch tutorials to familiarize myself with webinars?
No. Currently, there are no tutorials.
How do I get the audio portion of the webinar?
Currently, all you need is a telephone or a speaker/microphone set up for your computer. We have set it up so that everyone would call in to the same teleconference number. Once you log into the webinar through the link in your e-mail, a dialogue box will appear instructing you on how to access the audio portion.
Is there a question and answer component to the webinar, and if so, how does it work?
Yes, after each presentation there will be a Q&A time. The session chairs will moderate. You will need to listen carefully to the presenter and the session chair. You will need to click on the "hand" icon to show the moderator that you have a question and/or you could type the question in the "chat box." The moderator will then have you unmuted (all attendees are muted so as to avoid accidental noise disrupting the presentation). You will then speak your question and then click on the "hand" icon again to lower your hand.
